APPLESAUCE CAKE 
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg or 2 egg whites
2 c. applesauce (sweetened)
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. black walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda, salt, cloves and cinnamon. In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy, scrape sides of bowl often. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in flour mixture and mix well. Add raisins and nuts. Stir until mixed, pour batter into well greased and floured cake pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes. This cake is very moist. Needs no icing.
