APPLE FLUFF 
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 c. flour
2 med. apples, peeled & diced or 1 c. raisins instead
Hot fat for frying
Sprinkle with powdered sugar

Pour scalded milk into mixing bowl. Add salt and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Put yeast into 1/4 cup lukewarm water to dissolve. Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy and add to cooled milk mixture. Add yeast, stirring flour and apples. Beat well. Set in warm place until double, about 40 minutes. Do not mix after it is risen. Drop from heaping tablespoonsful into 1 inch of fat (Crisco). Turn once to brown other side. Drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar.
