MICHIGAN ROCKS COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter

4 beaten eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in hot water

3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

1 lb. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. Makes 10 dozen cookies.

Substitute chopped dates instead. I usually use a pound of chopped pecans and 1 pound of chopped dates. They are wonderful!
