1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. applesauce
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Measure brown sugar, shortening, applesauce and egg; mix at high speed for 2 minutes. Measure flour, cinnamon, soda, salt, raisins and nuts. Mix at low speed for 1 to 2 minutes. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
