FROZEN PIE CRUST DOUGH | |
Make up a double recipe of your favorite crust when making pies and freeze it. I form the dough in balls with enough dough for one crust and freeze them in plastic bags. They keep well and I can make a pie in a few minutes. Just set the dough out to thaw and roll out as usual. Or you can roll out several crusts at once, place waxed paper or thin plastic over them and roll up jelly-roll fashion. Wrap in foil and freeze. To use, let them unthaw, then carefully unroll and bake. |
