HELEN'S GINGER CRACKLES | |
2 c. sifted flour 1 tbsp. ground ginger 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. molasses Granulated sugar Sift dry ingredients together twice. Cream shortening with sugar. Beat in egg and molasses. Add dry ingredients and blend well. Form balls about the size of a walnut and roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until tops are slightly rounded and are light brown and crackly. |
