PEG'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | |
2/3 c. shortening 2/3 c. butter 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. coconut 2 (6 oz.) pkgs. chocolate chips Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in the remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonful 2 inches apart onto an ungreased pan or cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from tin. 2 cups salted peanuts substitute for chocolate, nuts and coconut. Before baking flatten with a glass the bottom of which has been greased and dipped in sugar. Be sure to dip in sugar when flattening each cookie. Makes about 7 dozen 2 inch cookies. |
