GREEN TOMATO CHOW CHOW | |
10 lb. chopped green tomatoes 8 lbs. shredded cabbage 8 lb. chopped onion 5 lb. sugar 3 qts. vinegar 6 tbsp. salt (or to taste) 3 tbsp. black pepper (or to taste) Cook in large container at rapid boil for 1 hour. Reduce heat and cook until thickened, stirring often. Ladle hot mixture into sterilized jars and wipe rim. Seal according to manufacturer's instructions. Process pint jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes. |
