SAUCE POT MEAT BALLS 
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix (I use Lipton brand)
1 1/4 c. water
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 lb. ground beef (round steak)
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
Pepper to taste

In deep saucepan, bring to boil quickly, onion soup mix, water and 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.

Mix ground beef, seasonings and remaining 1/2 can tomato sauce. Shape into meat balls and place into sauce mixture. Simmer gently for 30 to 45 minutes. Serve over noodles, rice or potatoes.
