FRESH APPLE NUT CAKE 
Peel and finely chop 3 c. yellow Delicious Apples

Grease and flour bundt pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

1 1/4 c. oil
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat until smooth.

Sift 3 cups plain flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt, set aside. Add 3 large eggs, beating after each addition on high speed. Add dry ingredients, fold in apples and 1 cup black walnuts. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tests done. (Pulls away from sides and is brown on top.)

BROWNSTONE FRONT ICING

For Jam Cakes, Mexican Fruitcake or Apple Cake.

2 c. white sugar
2 sticks butter
1 sm. can Carnation cream

Mix together in heavy saucepan, cook over medium heat until soft boil stage, remove from heat and let cook slightly. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until spreading consistency.

(I half this recipe for bundt cakes, too much but fine for pan or layer cakes.)
