AROZ CON LECHE - MILK AND RICE | |
1 cup rice 2 cups milk 2 cups water 2 cinnamon sticks 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 cup sugar In a heavy-bottomed saucepan put rice, and water. Bring to a boil. When the water is boiling, reduce heat to a low simmer; (an occasional bubble around the edges) add milk and cinnamon sticks. Stir often during cooking. Do not allow bottom of pan to scorch. Add vanilla after 15 minutes. When rice becomes tender at the end of the cooking time, stir in the sugar. Don't allow the sugar to stick to the bottom of the pan (Keep stirring until sugar dissolves). This is a good dessert during the Winter time. Submitted by: Karen Mendiola |
