1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. each salt and baking powder
4 heaping tbsp. cocoa
1 c. sour cream
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. hot water
2 tsp. vanilla

In large bowl cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and beat. Mix flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa (save out 1/2 cup) and add alternately with the sour cream.

Mix baking soda and reserved flour mixture and add hot water. Mix until smooth and add vanilla. Combine with other ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour into greased and floured 13x9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
