2 c. melted butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
6 eggs
2 c. dates, cut fine
2 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. baking soda
7 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
Candied red and green cherries (optional)

Melt butter, mix in sugars and vanilla. Beat eggs one at a time, and mix with sugar mixture. Sift flour and baking soda into sugar and egg mixture. Mix well. Add dates, and nuts. Drop onto cookie sheets or make into logs and wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate.

Slice and bake in 375 degree oven approximately 10 minutes. Logs can be frozen until needed. I add cherries for Christmas holidays. Note: Makes a very large batch of cookies.
