RED HOT APPLESAUCE SALAD 
2 1/2 c. boiling water
2/3 c. sm. red cinnamon candies
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. lemon gelatin
1 lb. can or 2 c. sweetened applesauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. nuts

Combine boiling water with cinnamon candies in saucepan; stir over low heat to dissolve candies. Remove from heat; stir in gelatin. Blend in applesauce. Pour half of mixture into a 2 quart mold or 8 inch square pan. Chill until firm. Blend softened cream cheese with mayonnaise. Add nuts. Spread cheese mixture over chilled mixture. Pour remaining gelatin mixture over cheese mixture. Chill several hours or until firm.
