CRUNCHY FRIED TOMATOES 
4 ripe or green medium tomatoes
1 egg, beaten
1 c. dry bread crumbs
1/3 c. butter
Salt and pepper

Cut tomatoes into 3/4 inch slices. Dip into egg and then into crumbs. Melt butter in large skillet, add tomatoes slices and cook until golden brown on each side. Season to taste with salt and pepper. 4 servings.
