DINNER CHOWDER | |
2 c. diced pared raw potatoes 3/4 c. minced onions 1/2 c. coarsely diced celery 2 1/2 tsp. salt 2 1/2 c. boiling water 4 tbsp. butter 4 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. mustard 1 1/2 tsp. thick condiment sauce (A-1 or Worcestershire) 2 c. milk 1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese 1 tbsp. minced parsley 1 c. canned tomatoes Combine potatoes, onion, celery, 1 tablespoon salt and boiling water. Simmer until tender (15 minutes). Melt butter; stir in flour. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons salt, pepper, mustard, condiment sauce, and milk. Cook until thick. Add cheese. Stir until melted. Add to potato mix. Add parsley and tomatoes. |
