CZECHOSLOVAKIAN VEGETABLE SOUP 
1/2 c. butter
3 med. carrots, sliced
2 med. onions, chopped
1 c. shredded cabbage
2 cans chicken broth
1/4 c. parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (9 oz.) frozen French style string beans
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
Garlic to taste
American cheese slices

Saute in melted butter, carrots, onions and cabbage. Add broth, parsley, salt, beans and seeds. Heat to boiling, reduce and simmer for 2 hours. Ladle soup and place sliced cheese on top and broil to soft bubbles.
