RAISIN OATMEAL CRISPS 
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1 c. nut meats

Combine raisins, shortening and water. Heat while stirring until shortening melts. Cool. Stir in vanilla and sugar. Sift flour with salt, soda and cinnamon. Blend into raisin mixture. Stir in oats and nut meats. Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
