BANANA WALNUT CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs, separated
2 very ripe bananas
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sour cream
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in 3 beaten egg yolks and bananas and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Fold in flour mixture with sour cream, a little at a time. Fold in 3 beaten egg whites and walnuts.

Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Frost with cream cheese butter cream icing.
