2 c butter, softened 1 lb. block sharp cheddar cheese, shredded 4 c all purpose flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 to 2 tsp ground red pepper 1/2 tsp paprika Beat butter and cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended; and flour and remaining ingredients, beating until blended. Cover and chill 2 hours. Shape dough into 4 (8 inch) logs; cover and chill 8 hours. Cut into 1/4 inch slices and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in an airtight container. Yields: 10 dozen. |
