FRAN'S RAW APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. cold coffee
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
1 c. raw apples, chopped and nut peeled
1 c. nuts or less

Cream butter and sugar; add egg and coffee. Sift and add flour, salt, soda, cloves, and cinnamon. Fold in raisins, apples, and nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes in a 9 x 9 or 7 x 11 inch pan. Cake can be left in pan. Serve plain or with topping.
