GERMAN APPLE CAKE II 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour milk
2 c. grated raw apples

Cream first 2 ingredients. Add eggs and mix well. Combine next 4 ingredients; add alternately with sour milk to sugar mix. Fold in the apples. Pour batter in tube pan, greased and floured. Sprinkle topping on it. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nuts

Combine and mix well.
