CRISPY OAT COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. oats, uncooked
1 c. crushed corn flakes
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter, then add sugar using medium speed of electric mixer. Add egg, beating well. Then add oil and vanilla, mixing well. Combine flour, soda, salt and add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and remaining ingredients. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten ball with tines of fork. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly. Makes 10 dozen.
