MAKE - AHEAD COLE SLAW | |
1 qt. cabbage, cut for slaw 2 c. cold water 1/2 c. pimento or green pepper 1 tbsp. salt 1/2 c. grated carrot 1 sm. onion, grated 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. dry mustard 1/2 c. vinegar 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. celery, cut fine Combine first 6 ingredients, let stand 1 hour in refrigerator, then drain. Meanwhile bring to boil and then cool thoroughly sugar, mustard, vinegar and water. When cool, pour over drained slaw and add celery. Will keep a month in refrigerator. |
