CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. light brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 (6 oz.) pkgs. Baker's semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs. Sift together the dry ingredients and add them to the mixture, then add the vanilla, nuts and chocolate bits. Drop the dough by spoonfuls onto baking sheets. Bake in preheated 375 degrees (190 degrees C) oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cookies are firm and lightly colored.
