Easy Baked Beans

 Loves-to-cook-but-lacks-time (Ontario) says:
For years I made baked beans from scratch, soaking the dry beans overnight, etc. I have tried various from-scratch recipes. This easy recipe is now a go-to recipe for our family, after tasting it at a gathering and quickly snatching up the recipe from our friend. It was a newspaper clipping in an article entitle "Try Jiffy Ways with Baked Beans".

I mix most of the ketchup into the beans. I also use a combination of kidney beans and Pork & Beans, which adds a nice texture. This was my friend's idea, not mine.

Honestly, you will be so surprised how many compliments you will get without the long process of traditional baked beans. Anyone who likes baked beans and has tried these has asked me for the recipe.

Warning: this is a little sweet. I cut back on the sugar by a couple tablespoons.
