Thank you - thank you for submitting this. I have tried for years to find a good recipe for SOS. When I noticed your recipe had garlic powder ~ Worcestershire - I KNEW this was what I had been searching for. Loved the addition of (Have Tabasco handy)... Thanks again

I have not tried this yet but will. I love Creamed Chipped beef. I have some cans of Roast Beef and was not sure what to do with them. I plan on making this recipe and using the roast beef instead of ground beef. Thanks. It looks like the recipe can be altered in many ways depending on what you have on hand.

Gunny, I've eaten gallons of SOS. I make it quite often for supper... the kids love it. I make it almost exactly as your recipe. Some times it varies 'cause I use what's at hand. Also make it with breakfast sausage.
Good recipe... Semper Fi

Dad served in the Army. He taught me how to make Shit on a Shingle. We used chipped beef and served over English muffins. It always brings back warm memories of him.

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but eyeballing the ingredients it seems like an awful lot of garlic. Really, 2 tablespoons of garlic powder? I have dehydrated chopped garlic in my pantry. Also garlic powder.

I was a young 19 boot camp Marine in 1971 and all we were told Marines are killers and Office clerks and cooks were at the bottom of the pot. We were treated like sh*t. SEMPER FI SEMPRI IFDALIS. ALWAYS BUT We were there.

Never had it with hamburger. SOS is made with chipped beef, very little fat all flavor. Hamburger makes it greasy unless you use a sirloin burger.

My Dad made it for us, but used fried bologna instead. It was great and I made it for my family when I got married. Yum!
