Children can make their own bird feeders by giving a pine cone a generous coating of peanut butter, rolling it in wild birdseed (black oil sunflower or safflower) and trimming it with popcorn or cranberries. Attach a piece of yarn or string to the feeder and hang it on a tree branch at home near a window so the children can see the fruits of their labor!
