CARAMEL NUT CRUNCH 
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. toasted oat cereal
1 c. pecan or walnut halves or roasted peanuts
1/2 c. slivered almonds

1. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt in 2 quart glass mix and pour bowl.

2. Microwave (high) uncovered 3-4 minutes or until mixture boils, stirring once. Stir well, then microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Combine cereal and nuts in large buttered microwave safe bowl. Pour hot mixture over cereal; mix until evenly coated.

3. Microwave on high uncovered 6-8 minutes or until cereal is toasted, stirring every 2 minutes. Spoon mixture onto waxed paper. Cool 5-7 minutes or until it starts to set. Break into pieces. Cool completely. Store in covered container. About 8 cups. 370 calories a cup.

Tip: If using salted peanuts, reduce or omit salt in syrup.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
