2 or 3 cans whole water chestnuts, can cut larger ones in half Slices of bacon, cut into 4 pieces each, once in 1/2 and then lengthwise Wrap each chestnut in a bacon strip and stick with a toothpick to hold bacon together. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Take out of pan and drain on paper towel. Mix 14 oz. catsup and 8 tablespoon sugar. Dip chestnuts in mixture and put in 9 x 13 pan. You can stick in the refrigerator at this point for as long as 24 hours. Then bake for another 45 minutes at 350 degrees and serve hot. |
