COOKIE JAR GINGERSNAPS 
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. white syrup
1 egg

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Form into 1-inch balls and roll in additional confectioners sugar. Cover with waxed paper and chill overnight.
