BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
2 c. raisins
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 tbsp. butter
2 3/4 c. flour

Measure boiling water into saucepan. Add raisins and salt. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add butter and baking soda and set aside to cool. Beat eggs and sugar together. Stir in vanilla. Add raisin mixture and flour (alternately) to egg mixture. Grease 4 cans (use vegetable cans) and spoon in mixture until each is 1/2 full. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.
