SAUCE:

1 square Baker's chocolate
1/2 c. water
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
9" pastry lined pie pan unbaked

CAKE:

1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

For Sauce: Melt chocolate with water over low heat. Add sugar, butter and vanilla.

For Cake: Sift dry ingredients. Blend in Crisco. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Mix until dry ingredients are damp. Then beat 2 minutes on slow speed. Pour cake batter into pie pan lined with pastry. Pour sauce over top. Do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
