ALICE'S WILD RICE GOURMET 
1 c. wild rice
2 c. hot stock or water
1/2 lb. sausage meat
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
1/4 c. pimento, cut into strips (optional)
1/4 c. green onions, chopped fine (optional)

Wash wild rice then cook in hot stock or water in covered sauce pan about one hour or until tender. Meanwhile, saute sausage meat until brown, loosening it from pan with a fork. Wash and dry mushrooms and cut in about 1/2 inch pieces. Saute mushrooms in 2 tablespoons of sausage drippings or butter for several minutes.

When rice is done, combine all three ingredients and blend with two forks. Pimento strips and green onions may be added for additional color and flavor. Taste and season with a little salt or pepper if required.
