APRICOT BARS 
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. nutmeats
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates or dried apricot, cut up
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt, optional
6 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Melt butter. Add sugar and beaten eggs, chopped nuts and dates or apricots, cut up. Add the dry ingredients and stir in the water and vanilla. Pour into greased 11 x 7 inch pan and bake 30-35 minutes. Coat bars by rolling in powdered sugar.
