NEW ENGLAND SWEET POTATOES 
1 1/2 lb. cooked or canned sweet potatoes or yams
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
Salt to taste

Cut sweet potatoes into 1 inch slices. In a sauce pan, combine syrup, sugar, butter and salt. Bring to boiling and simmer 5 minutes. Place potatoes in a baking pan or casserole. Pour syrup mixture over potato slices. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, basting frequently (can be done over low heat on top of stove, but stir and baste more frequently).
