NANNIE'S BREAD PUDDING 
6-8 slices bread
Milk, enough to cover
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Raisins (optional)

Soften bread in milk. Place sliced bread in greased 9 x 9 inch or 9 x 11 inch pan, sprinkling raisins between slices if desired. Mix well eggs, sugar, baking powder and vanilla and pour over bread mixture. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes until lightly browned and set at 300 degrees. Serves 6.

SAUCE:

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/8 c. butter

Heat ingredients for sauce over low heat until well blended. Pour over each serving of bread pudding while hot.
