BANANA NUT LOAF 
3 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
4 c. sifted flour
3 mashed bananas
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well, add vanilla. Combine soda and buttermilk. Add flour and buttermilk alternately beginning and ending with flour. Add bananas and nuts. Bake in a tube pan or 3 (2 x 8 inch) loaf pans at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. A very good banana nut loaf.
