ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 lb. orange candy, cut up
1 box chopped dates
1 c. coconut
2 c. chopped English walnuts
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/4 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in the buttermilk

Cream butter and sugar together. Then add eggs, one at a time. Add flour and milk, a little at a time. Mix first 4 ingredients with 1 cup of flour. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook in tube pan 2 1/2 hours at 250 to 300 degrees.

ICING:

1 c. orange juice
2 c. confectioners' sugar

Dissolve sugar in juice. Pour over cake while hot. Keep in pan overnight.
