NORWEGIAN CHEESE CASSEROLE | |
9 slices rye bread (crusts removed) 1/2 lb. Jarlsburg cheese 2 3/4 c. milk 4 eggs 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. melted butter Butter baking dish and arrange bread and cheese in dish, layering first bread, then cheese. Mix milk, eggs and salt and pour over cheese and bread. Pour melted butter over top. Let set refrigerated at least 2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Serves 4. (Excellent winter casserole without meat!) |
