SUET CHRISTMAS PLUM PUDDING 
1 c. sugar
1 c. bread crumbs
1 c. flour
1 c. boiling water
1 1/4 c. ground suet
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. raisins or citron, if desired
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg

Combine all ingredients. Place in steamer. Steam for 3 hours. Serve warm with hard sauce of powdered sugar and butter. Vanilla or rum may be added.

NOTE: This recipe is very, very old and is a Mendel family tradition at Christmas.
