BEST BUTTER ROLL OUT COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour

In a large bowl cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in vanilla and egg. Add baking powder and flour one cup at a time. The dough will be very stiff, add the last of the flour by hand. Do not chill dough. Roll out on floured board 1/8 inch thick and cut out cookies with cutters. Bake on top rack of oven 6-7 minutes just until LIGHTLY golden. Cool on cooling grid and ice.
