WAFFLE BATTER 
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1/4 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
2/3 c. water
2/3 c. can milk
6 tbsp. vegetable oil or melted butter
3 egg whites

Sift together, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add egg yolks, water, can of milk and vegetable oil or butter.

Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry; gently fold into batter. The batter will not be quite as thick as pancake batter.

I made this using whole wheat milk substitute and vegetable oil. It turned out pretty good but required the iron to be turned all the way to high. Also, as the batter sat longer it would rise more.
