ONION RING BATTER 
1 egg
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sweet milk
Sliced onions

Mix all ingredients. Dip rings into batter, then put in hot fat (375 degrees) to float. Turn so they brown. Fry until golden brown. Let drain and eat.

I've made similar recipes before, added a little corn meal it adds a subtle change in mouth feel and flavor, and for those who don't know yet, sweet milk is just whole milk, NOT SWEETENED CAN MILK, Paula Deen mentioned it on her show while making corn bread and I happened to to see it and I thought it was a very useful piece of information. I'm new to COOKS.COM found it thru google, it's great! Thank you, Gary

Gary is right - add a little corn meal to the flour... also - add a little "lemon-pepper"... the flavor will be doubled.
