OATMEAL REFRIGERATOR CRISPS 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugars. Add beaten eggs and vanilla; beat. Add sifted ingredients. Add oatmeal and nuts; mix well. Shape in rolls. Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight. Slice in 1/4 inch slices. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees 10 minutes or until brown. Can be frozen for later baking.
