BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. salt
5 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda (put in 1 1/4 c. buttermilk)
3 c. flour

Mix in order given, and beat well. Bake in tube pan 1 1/4 hours at 325 degrees.

RUM GLAZE:

1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. rum flavoring

Bring sugar and water to boil. When cool add flavoring. Brush onto hot cake, using all glaze.
