JIM'S PINTO BEANS 
1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried pinto beans
1 ham hock
Cayenne pepper to taste
Seasoned salt to taste
Garlic powder
Lemon and pepper to taste
1 lg. lean hamburger to taste
1 tbsp. light oil
1 chopped onion

Soak dried beans overnight. Cover totally with water next morning. Add ham hock and seasonings and bring to boil. Reduce to a simmer for about 2 hours or until tender.

In a separate skillet, add a tablespoon of light cooking oil and brown whole chopped onion. Add 1 pound hamburger meat. As you brown, season with seasoned salt and lemon and pepper. Chop meat up and brown thoroughly. Drain excess fat. Add to beans. Let cook another 30 minutes for beans to absorb flavor of meat.
