SPINACH DIP 
1 c. sour cream
1 c. mayonnaise
1/4 finely chopped red onion
1 can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix
1 pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed (not cooked)

Drain and squeeze the spinach until it is quite dry. Chop the onion and water chestnuts and mix everything together at least 2 hours before serving.

Hollow out a round loaf of bread for the "bowl" and tear up the unused center of bread from the bowl for dipping. Another loaf of sour dough or French bread will be needed to tear up for dipping.

Will keep for about 3-5 days in the refrigerator. Very popular at gatherings of all kinds. Interesting green color and consistency.
