“CREAMED CHICKEN” IS IN:

CREAMED CHICKEN 
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk
4 cups diced chicken (cooked)
1 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup diced celery
1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 small can pimiento (optional)
1/2 teaspoon paprika
salt and pepper, to taste

Melt butter in a double boiler. Sprinkle in flour, salt and pepper, mixing well. Add the chicken stock and warm milk. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring often until mixture thickens.

Reduce heat, add celery, garlic, sage and onion. Ccover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add paprika, pimiento (optional), and cooked, diced chicken. Beat the egg yolk using a fork and add to saucepan. Stir. Cook 5 more minutes, then season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve.

This can be served in pastry shells, in a pie crust, or over noodles or rice.

Variation: Add mixed vegetables or 1 can of Veg-All; use to fill freshly baked popovers.

We've been eating a lot of chicken lately to keep the grocery bill low. Love this website and found this recipe. I did add a can of veg-all and serviced with rice that was cooked in chicken broth. Next time I want to use Chinese Noodles. Make this recipe your own. Good starter for most any meat I would think. This is my new go to recipe. Thanks bunches
