RED DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. coffee
1 tbsp. red food color
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 7/8 c. flour

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs; beat well. Combine cocoa and hot coffee. Add to first mixture. Add coloring. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add milk. Stir and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until done at 350 degrees.
